An Overarching Impulse, July 2023

This was my first solo London show for a while, but it effectively became a retrospective for a varied mix of work from the last 10 years. The event featured performance, poetry, video, ceramics and paintings, and reflected the multi media direction in which most of my work has gone. It was held at the Fitzrovia Gallery near Euston, and was a long, dynamic space which offered a good opportunity to show projected video work at the gallery’s far end. The show’s title, An Overarching Impulse, seemed as good a way as any to reflect the spontaneous and mercurial nature of creative inspiration – and the often impulse driven nature of my own output!
