A quick weekend stopover in Cambridge mid-September 2020 provided enough time for a concentrated bit of watercolour work. The beautiful willow trees of the city centre’s surrounding meadows were too inviting to miss, and I also sketched several of the university’s colleges during the warm late summer afternoons. The pictures reminded me again, after months of London lockdown, that there’s no substitute for painting and drawing on location.
