Long Roads Home, when it finally came to fruition, was spread over a four day period, with several performance events and an opening night. The show was a collaboration between Carrie McKinnon and I, and we wanted to explore the themes of home and refuge, and some of the work went deep into recent traumatic events, most noticeably the Pylos disaster in the Mediterranean with the loss of more then 500 people seeking refuge. The performance night featured musicians, writers and activists all contributing in various ways to aspects of the show’s principal themes.
